Step 1
To start our guide on how to draw a book, we’ll start with a slightly elongated rectangle shape. To make this step a little easier, you can use a ruler to draw a rectangle at the same angle as the book in the image. Once you have that guide shape, you can draw the final shape of the book. When happy with the final form, you should erase the pencil lines you drew as a guide. The top right corner of the book will have the straightest edges, as you can see in the image.
Step 2 – Add the Top of the Book
Now that you have the outline of your book drawn, you can start drawing the internal details. You can draw a very rounded line between the two angled shapes using the more angular shape you left at the top right of your book. This will be the top of the book pages, which we’ll draw later. Once it examines the picture in the contact print, you can carry on to the following stage.
Step 3: We will now add some lines for the pages.
For this part of our guide on how to draw a book, we’ll add some lines to represent the pages of your book. Using a ruler would be ideal for this step, as it will help keep the space between each line even more. Pages depending on your preference!
Step 4: Draw on the spine of the book.
You’re drawing an excellent, thick book in this guide, so your book drawing needs an equally thick cover and spine. To make the book look like it has a dense body, carefully draw a line around the top of the pages you drew in the previous steps. Once you’ve drawn the thick cover, draw a curved line on the back of the book to give it a nice thick spine. Now that you have these elements drawn, you can add some final details to your book.
Step 5: Now add the final details.
You are so close to finishing your book drawing! Before moving on to the fun coloring step, your book needs a few final details. We’ve shown some points you could add to your book drawing, and the pieces we offer have some little circles and lines along the spine.
